GS Mark: warranty of quality

The final consumer is often unable to base his purchasing choice on certain criteria. Nobody can easily recognize the inner value of a product.
GS Mark, known for almost 40 years, is recognized worldwide in guaranteeing the safety requirements of all finished products.
Nowadays GS Mark has become very important amongst many goods coming from all over the world.
This Mark, released by TÜV Rheinland third-party company, is trusted by consumers all over Europe.

Though the GS Mark was first introduced in Germany, “GS” doesn’t literally means “German Safety” but stands for “Certified Security”.
Safety characteristics are evaluated, tested and certified in connection with the successful registration of your trademark.
This trademark is not compulsory and can be used by individual companies wishing to distinguish their products or services in the market.
It shows that a third-party company tested their safety requirements and that products are monitored and checked every year.

GS Mark demonstrates the following:

In contrast to the GS Mark, CE marking is the manufacturer’s self-declaration and doesn’t prove compliance to all applicable directives. For most products sold in the EU, the use of CE mark and a declaration of conformity are mandatory.
With the exception of some high risk products, most products can be self-declared by the manufacturer to meet the essential requirements.

While the CE mark permits a product’s access to the EU, it is not an approval certification or quality mark; nor is a marketing tool.
CE marking is a “mark” that is only a declaration of the supplier’s own responsibility.
While enabling products to be placed on the European market, it allows for the free movement of goods and permits the withdrawal of non conforming products.
